H's journey to help end sex slavery

Story

Last year I came across the awe-inspiring organization, PROJECT FUTURES, whose mission is to:

“Raise awareness

Engage a generation

End sex trafficking”

As a big believer in things happening for a reason I immediately felt this was a crucial calling and started looking into the issue of sexual slavery around the world. Shocked by the vast statistics and heart wrenching stories, I couldn’t not get involved.

Consequently, I will be one of 20 participants cycling through Cambodia and Laos for two weeks in December. Visiting AFESIP shelters, meeting the girls and averaging about 70km a day.

The whole notion of fitness training is fairly alien to me, so that is challenge number one! But challenge number two, (and this is where you come in) is to raise at least (AU)$7,000 in sponsorship. These funds go directly to the Somaly Mam Foundation, which gives brave survivors (sometimes from the age of 3) shelter, food, education, healthcare, but most of all love and hope.

One of the reasons this cause means so much to me is because we really do have the power to change it.

So please make a difference by giving what you can, whether it’s just £10, or ideally £10 million!
And forward this onto friends, family, colleagues, everyone/anyone that might be interested.

With your help and generosity I am hoping to go above and beyond the minimum target. If you have any fundraising suggestions, think your company might be willing to sponsor, or fancy organising an event yourself, please get in contact - we'd be so grateful.
